Creating and Managing Pages in Alosant (Locations, Amenities, Clubs, and Marketplace Pages)

Learn how to create and manage Pages in Alosant, including locations, amenities, clubs, marketplace businesses, and information pages, to control menus, reservations, and content visibility in the app.

Summary

Pages are the foundation for most content in the Alosant app. They are used to display locations, amenities, clubs, marketplace businesses, and informational content. Pages appear in Custom Menus and can optionally be pinned to the Home feed, allowing admins to control how users discover and interact with content.

Prerequisites

  • You have access to the Alosant Admin portal

  • You have permission to create and edit Pages

Steps

Understand page types

  1. Review Location / Amenity / Page for general locations, amenities, and information.

  2. Use Club pages to manage clubs, memberships, and club events.

  3. Use Marketplace pages to create followable business pages for push notifications and newsletters.

Create a Location or Amenity page

  1. In the Admin sidebar, select Pages.

  2. Click + New Page.

  3. Keep the default Location / Amenity / Page type.

  4. Enter the page Name.

  5. Enter a description in the Sub Text field.

  6. Enter the Address.

  7. Select a Custom Menu.

  8. Select one or more Tags.

  9. Configure Hours of Operation if applicable.

  10. Enable optional UI features such as Open/Closed Status, Schedule, or Map.

  11. Click Save.

  12. Scroll down and click Add Resource to upload an image.

Create a Reservable Location page

  1. In the Admin sidebar, select Pages.

  2. Click + New Page.

  3. Keep the default Location / Amenity / Page type.

  4. Enter the page name, description, and address.

  5. Select one or more Custom Menus.

  6. Select applicable Tags.

  7. Enable Reservable.

  8. Configure reservation details.

  9. Set Hours of Operation.

  10. Enable optional UI features as needed.

  11. Click Save.

  12. Edit the page and scroll to Timetables.

  13. Assign a timetable to each available date.

  14. Click Save.

  15. Add an image using Add Resource.

Create a Club page

  1. In the Admin sidebar, select Pages.

  2. Click + New Page.

  3. Change the page type to Club.

  4. Enter the club name and description.

  5. Leave Join Required enabled to require approval, or disable it to allow interest only.

  6. Enter an address.

  7. Select a Custom Menu.

  8. Select one or more Tags.

  9. Set optional hours and UI features.

  10. Click Save.

  11. Add an image using Add Resource.

Manage club memberships

  1. In the Admin sidebar, select Club Memberships.

  2. Open a pending membership request.

  3. Click Activate to approve.

  4. Click Cancel to remove an active member.

Create an Information page

  1. In the Admin sidebar, select Pages.

  2. Click + New Page.

  3. Keep the default Location / Amenity / Page type.

  4. Enter the page name and description.

  5. Enter any valid address.

  6. Select a Custom Menu.

  7. Select one or more Tags.

  8. Disable Reservable.

  9. Leave all weekdays unchecked.

  10. Disable Open/Closed Status, Schedule, and Map.

  11. Click Save.

  12. Add an image using Add Resource.

Create a Marketplace page

  1. In the Admin sidebar, select Pages.

  2. Click + New Page.

  3. Change the page type to Marketplace.

  4. Enter the business name and description.

  5. Enable Join Required.

  6. Enter an address.

  7. Select a Custom Menu.

  8. Select one or more Tags.

  9. Set Hours of Operation and optional UI features.

  10. Click Save.

  11. Add an image using Add Resource.

View and manage Marketplace followers

  1. In the Admin sidebar, select Marketplace Followers.

  2. Review follower details including status and request date.

Edit an existing page

  1. In the Admin sidebar, select Pages.

  2. Click the pencil icon next to the page.

  3. Update fields as needed.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Add or update images using Add Resource.

Expected result

  • Pages appear in the selected Custom Menus and Home feed if pinned.

  • Users can view, reserve, follow, or request access based on page type.

  • Content visibility and interactions align with page configuration.

Troubleshooting

  • Page is not visible: Confirm it is assigned to a Custom Menu and not restricted by triggers.

  • Reservations are unavailable: Verify Reservable is enabled and timetables are assigned.

  • Users cannot join a club: Check whether Join Required is enabled and membership requests are being reviewed.

  • Marketplace followers not receiving updates: Confirm they are listed under Marketplace Followers.

What types of content use Pages?
Locations, amenities, clubs, marketplace businesses, and informational content all use Pages.

Can pages be pinned to the Home feed?
Yes. Pages can be pinned using Triggers.

Are images required on pages?
Images are optional but recommended to improve the user experience.

Do all pages require an address?
Yes. An address is required for all page types, even Information Pages.

Notes / Escalation

  • Important: Deleting or changing page types can affect menus, triggers, reservations, and visibility.

  • Important: Revealing Marketplace pages to guest users can automatically create new user accounts and assign roles.

  • Internal-only note: If the “Marketplace User” role does not exist, guest followers may see unintended menus.

  • Escalate to the Alosant internal teams if page visibility, reservations, or follower behavior does not work as expected.
